Exodus 36:2-8

A. 2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

B. 3 And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.

C.  4 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; 5 And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.

B’. 6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

A’. 8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them …

A 30 And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31 And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

B. 32 And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 33 And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.

C 34 And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

B’ 35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

A’ 36:1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.

A. 4 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, 5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, 6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, 7 And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shittim wood,

B. 8 And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,

C. 9 And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.

D. the things to be made
10 And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;
11 The tabernacle, his tent, and his covering, his taches, and his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets,
12 The ark, and the staves thereof, with the mercy seat, and the vail of the covering,
13 The table, and his staves, and all his vessels, and the shewbread, 14 The candlestick also for the light, and his furniture, and his lamps, with the oil for the light,
15 And the incense altar, and his staves, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the door at the entering in of the tabernacle,
16 The altar of burnt offering, with his brasen grate, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,
17 The hangings of the court, his pillars, and their sockets, and the hanging for the door of the court,
18 The pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords,
19 The cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office.

E. 20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.

D’. the willing offerings
22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold:
and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.
23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, and red skins of rams, and badgers’ skins, brought them.
24 Every one that did offer an offering of silver and brass brought the LORD’S offering:
and every man, with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it.
25 And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. 26 And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats’ hair.

C’. 27 And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate;

B’. 28 And spice, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense.

A’. 29 The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

1 Samuel

1 Samuel 13:16-23

A.16 And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash. 17 And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to Ophrah, unto the land of Shual: 18 And another company turned the way to Bethhoron: and another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness.

B.19 Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel:

C. for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:

B’. 20 But all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his share, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock. 21 Yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to sharpen the goads.

C’. 22 So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan:

A’. but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found. 23 And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the passage of Michmash.

Isaiah

Isaiah 30:1-11

A. children that do not seek YHWH’s guidance

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD,
that take counsel, but not of me;
and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit,
that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go down into Egypt,
and have not asked at my mouth;
to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh,
and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

B. Egypt no help – they are staying where they are!

3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame,
and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them,
nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

B’. Egypt no help – Israel’s ambassadors travel through dangerous territory to no avail.

6 The burden of the beasts of the south:
into the land of trouble and anguish,
from whence come the young and old lion,
the viper and fiery flying serpent,
they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses,
and their treasures upon the bunches of camels,
to a people that shall not profit them.
7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose:
therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

A’. children that reject YHWH’s guidance through the prophets

8. Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, 
that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

9. That this is a rebellious people, lying children,
children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10. Which say to the seers, See not;
and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things,
speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11. Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path,
cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Job

Job 19:22-29

A.22 Why do ye persecute me as God,
and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Oh that my words were now written!
oh that they were printed in a book!
24 That they were graven with an iron pen
and lead in the rock for ever!

B. 25 For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body,

C. yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Whom I shall see for myself,

C’. and mine eyes shall behold,
and not another;

B’. though my reins be consumed within me.

A.28 But ye should say,
Why persecute we him,
seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Be ye afraid of the sword:
for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword,
that ye may know there is a judgment.

Deuteronomy 25:5-10

A.5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger:

B. her husband’s brother shall go in unto her,

C. and take her to him to wife,

B’. and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.

A’. 6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

A. 7 And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife,

B. then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders,

C. and say, My husband’s brother refuseth

D. to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel,

C’. he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.

B’. 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him:

A’. and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;  

A. 9 Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face,  and shall answer and say,

B. So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.

A’. 10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.

Philippians

Philippians 3:10-21

A. 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;  11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

B. 12 Not as though I had already attained,

C. either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

D. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,

E. forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

D’. 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

C’. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

B’. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.17  Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

A’. 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Note: the sense of this section of the chapter has to do with the visible angelic presence preventing the Egyptians from catching up with the Israelites.

A.15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them:

B. and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

C.18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD,

B’. when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

A’. 19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: 20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

A.1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: 2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

B.3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write:(G3195) and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

C.5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

D.6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever,

C’. who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

B’.7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound (G3195), the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again,

A’. and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

A.9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book.

B. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter,

C. but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

D.10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up;

C’. and it was in my mouth sweet as honey:

B’. and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

A’.11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
