[A] 18 Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
[B] And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession?
[C] He does not retain His anger forever,
[D] Because He delights in unchanging love.
[C] 19 He will again have compassion on us;
[B] He will tread our iniquities under foot.
[A] Yes, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea
This is a clear example of Hebrew chiasm (unlike a number of the posts on this site). The entire pericope is chiastic (not just a few words or phrases cherry-picked from a long passage.) Good job locating it!
Thank you very much. I am thoroughly enjoying myself discovering these gems. I think I found a new hobby.
… everything on this site is posted as a’draft’ and we welcome improvements. Chiasmus may apply to a whole pericope (and even larger scale) but also may be nested within pericopes.
See the page on “A Health Warning” regarding cherry-picking etc.
