Isaiah 50:4-11*

Note: adapted from Breck who suggests that there are 5 units, 1,2,4,5 having internal chiastic structure, and a centre in verse  8 – “He is near that justifieth me”.

One thought on “Isaiah 50:4-11*”

  1. Could the last section (v10-11) be a step parallelism, contrasting two light sources?

A: Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant,
B: that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? (implied light of the servant)
C:let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

A: Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks:
B: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled.
C: This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
