From Perry Hall – There is an alternative way to punctuate John 7:37-38 and when done so it forms a nice chiasm. I also include v.39:
A – (37) On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out,
B – “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me.
B’ – And drink (38) Whoever believes in Me.
A’ – As the Scripture has said, ‘Out of His (i.e., Jesus) heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
A – (39) Now this He said
B – about the Spirit,
C – whom those who believed in him were to receive,
B’ – for as yet the Spirit had not been given,
A’ – because Jesus was not yet glorified.
